D.C. rolls out the red carpet

….When the dinner ended, it was pouring rain, proving problematic for those wanting to walk to the top party spot of the night a few blocks away, the Bloomberg after-party.

If you were considered a VIP, you received something called a B-Unit and were let right in. If you were merely on the list — still quite a feat to achieve — you had to wait in line. In the rain. For over an hour. People were not pleased — and worse.

At Capitol File’s competing party, Lauren Conrad appeared, Rosario Dawson, Tim Daly, Pete Wentz DJ’ed, and Craig Ferguson said his hellos.

Did you have fun, we asked? “I actually did have fun,” he told us. “I didn’t think I would, but it was a blast.”

And, are you relieved it’s over? “Yes.”
